Wedding #2

Well the day after the government wedding Keith and Jennifer got married in the Merida Temple. The ceremony was nice as it was performed in the air conditioned temple. After the ceremony we went outside and took pictures. I imagine it was about 137 degrees F with ~95% humidity. Maybe it wasn't that hot but it sure felt like it. Keith is pretty funny as he was sporting his cock fighter belt. Don't know too many guys that could pull that off on their wedding day. You can see it in the second picture. I also got in one shot just to show I really was there. After the we took pictures and before we headed back to Campeche for the reception we had lunch at the nicest restaurant in Merida, Burger King. You will want to tune in tomorrow night for the last installment of Keith and Jennifer's wedding because "There aint no party like a Campeche party!"

Wedding #1

Well Keith had a few weddings. This was the first wedding which was performed by a justice of the peace. It was a little touch and go for a while because the lady performing wedding didn't want to come because the person picking her up was a bit late. After they smoothed things over she performed the wedding. You have to be married by a government official because Mexico won't recognize a marriage performed by clergy. It was a very nice ceremony with some friends of the family.

There be Pirates in them thar waters...

Here are a couple shots of the Cathedral in downtown Campeche. It is really quite close to the water and few years back they had problems with pirates. Around town there are forts that were build to fight off the pirates, complete with cannons and everything. While visiting the Cathedral we saw a bell from one of the bell towers that took a cannon ball during one of the fights with the pirates. Pretty sweet... The first picture is at night ~2:00 am after Keith and Jennifer were married by a government official. Tomorrow I will post about the first wedding. ~Erik

High Ho Mexico...

I am heading to Mexico tomorrow for my little brothers wedding. I won't get there until Wednesday at 1:00 pm. You can see the town (Campeche) I will be in on the west side of the Yucatan. I am a bit nervous because I haven't ever been to Mexico and my Spanish isn't all that stellar. I'll try and post some pictures as soon as I can. ~Erik

Energy Relief...

Governor Palin was kind enough to get Alaskan residents a little extra boost this year in the form of energy relief. Well my energy relief went to new lights for my camera. I have been wanting to get a setup similar to what folks are using on this website. A portable setup that I can use on the move. I plan on bringing a few speed lights to Mexico when I go down for my brother's wedding. I am still waiting on my radio poppers to trigger the speed lights. Here are a couple shots taken with the new umbrella and my current SB600. The new equipment will be much better than what I am using now.

Potty Break

We went up to Anchorage this weekend and the weather was a bit crappy. I was planning on taking some picture of the fall colors, but it was too rainy. The only pictures I got were when we had to take a potty break for Kaitlyn. I have found that I have to post pictures of all three kids now as the older 2 monitor the blog.
I said I didn't get any other pictures; that isn't true. I am trying to stitch 91 pictures for a new gigapan. The computer has been chunking on it for more than 12 hours, so it may not work. It is a shot at the Hope turnoff on the way to Anchorage. If it works I will try and post it soon.

Thanks to Beth and Ian for watching the kids while we went shopping. We had to get a suit for my brother Keith who is getting married in October in Mexico. I will be going to Mexico to shoot their wedding, so stay posted in October for pictures from a Mexican wedding. I am pretty excited to go there. Keith's fiance (Jennifer) lives in Campeche Mexico, if you want to check it out on Google earth.
