Kaitlyn's Princess Party/ Wii

Kaitlyn turned 5 yesterday and in honor of the big day we had a Princess Tea Party. Kaitlyn is such a girlie girl and has been planning this party since June. Erik and Owen took off to escape all the estrogen and Erik's mom, Barbara, came over to help me with the party. We had a blast. The girls all came dressed as princesses - so cute! We started out by painting the girls' nails and then we made crowns, played games (like Kiss the Frog) and had a castle cake with special "princess punch." Needless to say, the girls had so much fun and Kaitlyn got way too many presents. ~Angela

Can you say WHEEEEE.... or maybe just Wii. This week we got a new addition to the family, that's right the coveted Nintendo Wii. Does it live up to all the hype, Yes. I have a Wii bit of soreness in my arms from playing Wii sports. Angela has been getting pretty tried of my Wii jokes but it has been a blast. The girls love to box and Kaitlyn does a victory dance every time she beats an opponent. We will try and post some pictures of the kids playing. ~Erik

Tesoro Party....

So.....We know that Halloween was a few weeks ago but we had a company party. The theme of the Tesoro party was Hollywood nights. Most people took the conservative route and dressed for the red carpet. We figure that we would dress as characters from Star Wars. Maybe it has been a boyish fantasy but I have always wanted to spend an evening on the town with Leia. So I had to dress up like Solo just to take Leia out. The attached pictures show our costumes. We had a really good time.

Spooky Halloween

Happy Halloween! We had a fun, and surprisingly warm (for Alaska), Halloween. I think it was 43 degrees tonight - not too bad! We went as the Massey Zoo. Erik and I were zookeepers, Kaitlyn was a zebra, Kali a monkey and Owen a lion. We carted Owen around in our wagon made to look like a cage, complete with a "please don't feed the animals" sign at our church's "Trunk or Treat." He wasn't too sure about the whole costume thing, especially when he was sitting in the wagon. The girls had a blast and towards the end Kali was dragging her bucket of candy because it was too heavy to keep carrying it around. I guess that's when you know you have too much candy! We hope everyone else had a fun Halloween too!
