Kali turned 4 today and it was pretty eventful. She had a friend over early in the day then in the evening Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Kim and Aunt Missy came over. Angela made a crazy Hello Kitty cake for her. As you can see by the picture above Kali has Angela's ability, or lack there of, to blow out candles. You can see from the picture that it isn't from lack of trying. She got a Hello Kitty coloring book from Grandma and Grandpa Massey. Also she got a talking cat from Grandpa Stan and Grandma Debbie. You can see from the last picture that she is keeping in touch with here grandparents in San Diego. There are more birthday pics here. ~Erik

There aint no party like a Campeche party!
Finally we made it to the reception, and what a party it was. Things started off very conservatively with dinner, toasts, cutting the cake and a slide show. After all that the live band started and things became a bit more lively. All the guys put on aprons symbolizing once you get married you will be cooking and cleaning or something. That wasn't too different but then they picked up Keith and began dancing around the room with him on their shoulders.
They then started throwing him in the air. It was one of the sweetest things I have ever seen. You can see my dads face in the picture below. You just can't help but smile when you see a grown man being hurled into the air. I love Mexico...
All the ladies danced around the bride in preparation for the bouquet toss as shown below. Look at how supportive Keith is. He is going to make a great husband with his apron on.
At about 2:00 am they pulled out the balloons. Everyone was dancing and having a wonderful time. Keith and Jennifer love to dance and they seemed to have a great time.
It was about 3:00 am and we had to leave for the airport to catch our plane. I don't know how long the party lasted but this is what it looked like when we left. I had a wonderful time in Mexico and wish Keith and Jennifer the best. Viva Campeche!
P.S. the pictures are a bit large when you click on them. If they are too big, increase your monitor resolution...

Super Cute Baby Shower Cake...
We had a baby shower last night for my friend, Pepper. It was a great turnout and she got tons of gifts, which is just what you need for your first baby! I made this cake for the shower that I copied from my old roommate, Loralee. For those of you who like all things crafty, you should check out her craft blog. She is super cute and clever. Anyways, the shower was fun. I really like the way the cake turned out and people said it tasted good too. I, personally, don't like the taste of fondant, but I love the smooth finish it gives a cake. Erik also threw a picture in of Owen attacking a giant chicken finger. That boy likes to eat.

Hannah Montana Cake
This weekend I made a cake for a friend's birthday party. It wasn't perfect, but I was pretty pleased with how it turned out. We also got quite a downpour of snow after everything had just about melted off. Kaitlyn decided it was her job to shovel the driveway. The snow shovel seemed too big for her, so she grabbed a clam digging shovel from the garage. She even got her friends to help her when they came over for dinner. The girl helping Kaitlyn is who the cake is for. I guess Kaitlyn's attitude was "if life gives you lemons (or snow) make lemonade (or a clear path to play in). -Angela
I took another trip to Homer to pick up the boat. My other shots are on my photo blog, it was a very nice day. ~Erik

Kali
For the next few weeks we will be showcasing each of the kids. This week Kali is in the spotlight. Kaitlyn usually gets things first because she is the oldest, so we will focus on Kali in the first post. Kali likes to get attention by being silly. It's pretty amazing that she has such a well defined sense of humor at such a young age. Must get it from her mom. Kali has been known to say some pretty funny things. For example, we had an old fish that would die soon. I told the girls when the fish died we could get a new one. A few days later Kali asked, "when Owen dies can we get a baby sister?" A couple more: "Princesses don't pee." "I'm allergic to killing ants." "When I get married, I'm going to have a Dora cake with my boyfriend." Here are some pictures of her and a little video clip that shows her personality.

Kaitlyn's Princess Party/ Wii
Kaitlyn turned 5 yesterday and in honor of the big day we had a Princess Tea Party. Kaitlyn is such a girlie girl and has been planning this party since June. Erik and Owen took off to escape all the estrogen and Erik's mom, Barbara, came over to help me with the party. We had a blast. The girls all came dressed as princesses - so cute! We started out by painting the girls' nails and then we made crowns, played games (like Kiss the Frog) and had a castle cake with special "princess punch." Needless to say, the girls had so much fun and Kaitlyn got way too many presents. ~Angela
Can you say WHEEEEE.... or maybe just Wii. This week we got a new addition to the family, that's right the coveted Nintendo Wii. Does it live up to all the hype, Yes. I have a Wii bit of soreness in my arms from playing Wii sports. Angela has been getting pretty tried of my Wii jokes but it has been a blast. The girls love to box and Kaitlyn does a victory dance every time she beats an opponent. We will try and post some pictures of the kids playing. ~Erik
