Halibut Cove Boy Scout Trip (Part 1)

I went with the scouts this weekend on a camping trip. We weren't really in Halibut Cove but pretty darn close. Here is a map that shows where we went. It was a really nice beach tucked away back in the mountains. You have to take a boat to get to the camping spot. We left pretty early in the morning but as you can see by the shots it was pretty late by the time I was able to take some shots. We got to the camping spot about 1:30 pm and by 1:45 one of the boys had fallen down a steep slope and plummeted off a small cliff. He was acting more weird than normal. I mean really how many 14 yr olds do you know that act normal. Anyways he couldn't remember where he was and kept repeating himself. I had a couple of the boys help me load him in the boat and we headed back to Homer where we went to the emergency room. 7 hours later we were back on our way to the campsite and the boy who fell was on his way home with his mom. Fortunately he was ok because it could have been much worse.
You can see from the pictures that we had sea kayaks which were really fun for the boys. The picture below was taken at about 10:30 or 11 at night. It stays light pretty late this time of the year. The shot at the bottom was taken when all the boys were cooking dinner. Are they eating marshmallows for dinner? Where are their moms at? Stay tuned for more of the story tomorrow. ~Erik
