Geek Party

We hosted a geek party this weekend. If you are new to the blog you may not know that I am an engineer at an oil refinery. Not really glamorous, but it pays the bills. One of the nice things about work is the co-workers. I work with 3 other engineers in the process group and they all have kids about the same ages as ours. Angela thought that it would be fun if the kids could decorate gingerbread houses. Like always she couldn't take the easy way out. She insisted on making gingerbread from scratch, baking it, melting sugar for glue and loading icing pipes for decoration. As always I was a bit skeptical and made sarcastic comments about my wife's sanity. But, there were nine beautiful gingerbread house that left our home and 9 happy kids, dang, Angela, you win again... You can find the other geeks blogs here and here. There are more pictures from the party here. ~Erik

Man, if you think that is a geek party you should see our house on Saturday night. Kevin invites a bunch of friends and they all bring their computers over, connect them, and then play games all night.
Angela is cool. What is the recipe for the houses?
